Since the first Wild Trout Symposium in 1974, concerned anglers, biologists and fisheries managers have gathered to share their passion for wild trout. Wild Trout Symposium brings us all together in a world of changing environments, philosophies and politics. The Symposium welcomes your knowledge and fellowship as we work to sustain this precious resource for future generations.
Our mission is to provide a forum for professional wild trout biologists and fishery conservationists to interact, to get to know each other in an informal setting, and to be exposed to the latest wild trout status, science, technology and philosophy. These conferences equip participants to better preserve and restore this magnificent but declining resource.

WTXI slated for 2014
Due to the unfortunate convoluted political climate of October 2013, the 2013 meeting of WTXI was unable to be held in Yellowstone National Park and has had to be rescheduled.
While the date and venue has yet to be determined, the organizing committee is forging ahead to bring WTXI back to life in 2014.
We thank all that held with us as we watched the shutdown unfold, we apologize to those whose hopes were dashed and travel plans disrupted, yet we are buoyed up by the continued commitment we hear from those who made it to West Yellowstone that shows you all are a dedicated bunch.
WTXI in 2014 will still be the same great opportunity to engage in in-depth discussion and network about all things wild trout.
Please watch this page for updates and we look forward to seeing you next year.
Respectfully and thank you,
The Wild Trout Symposium Organizing Committee
